“We Are Light”, MUDDYLOOP’s latest album is reminiscent of those classic 80's teen movies - all neon glow and big hair, where the hero wins the day and the credits roll with glory.

Retro synthesizers and nods to the past are meshed and fused with modern pop productions and sensibilities. Making it all come alive is the boy-girl combo of vocalists Marvin Ambrosius and Lucy Lawrence.
Let’s be clear: this isn’t just some cheesy knock-off synth fest. With “We Are Light”, MUDDYLOOP have crafted a tour de force of emotion and sheer retro feel-goodness that demands re-listens and expects to become the new soundtrack to your life.

From the luxurious opening chords of All 4 Love, through to the effervescent and bouncy New Toy and Misbehave (a Prince-tactic stormer that sincerely sticks it to the Man), MUDDYLOOP carve out their own niche soundscape: one that is colourful and playful and where the light is beautifully balanced with the dark.

Bass-driven cuts like Pretty Boy and Burnin’ keep the tempo pumped up, but it’s tracks like A Million Ways, a heartfelt synth and guitar ballad evoking the best of Cyndi Lauper, and the atmospheric Calling All Cars, which pairs big basslines and broken hearts against a wail of sirens and sinister chords, that we get to see all the shades of MUDDYLOOP...and guess what? They are all in beautiful multi-coloured neon.
